This captivating sculpture defies traditional artistic boundaries, blending everyday objects with abstract design. Two vivid red high-heeled shoes have been transformed into the vibrant horns of a stylized bull's skull. The shoes, with their glossy finish and elegant curves, juxtapose the otherwise stark monochrome palette. The central skull is adorned with intricate black-and-white geometric patterns, reminiscent of tribal motifs or modernist graffiti. These bold designs draw the eye into a maze of swirling lines and dots, creating a dynamic tension between symmetry and chaos. Mounted on a sleek black stand, the piece commands attention, elevating its conceptual symbolism. It challenges perceptions of beauty and strength, merging femininity with raw power. This artwork captivates with its audacious fusion of fashion and fine art, engaging viewers through its unexpected form and thought-provoking aesthetics.
Grégoire Devin, whose works are exhibited in numerous galleries around the world, has established himself as a prolific French artist exploring various artistic mediums. His paintings, drawings and sculptures are shown in art galleries in the United States, Europe and the Middle East, and in several contemporary art museums in China. His works have also joined private collections around the world.
Grégoire draws his inspiration from street culture, the urban culture he immerses himself in during his leisure or professional trips to New York, Miami and throughout Europe.
His works have caught the attention of renowned collectors, but also of major brands, even Princes:
In 2018, at the Global Art Awards in Dubai, Grégoire Devin received from the hands of His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan the prize for best artist, the "Best Global Artist Award".
This same year 2018, for his 60th birthday, the Prince of Monaco, Albert II, received a work by Grégoire Devin, the sculpture "United We Stand".
Luc Belaire, the most successful French sparkling wine brand in the world, renowned in particular for its rosé, the best-selling French wine in the United States, asked him to participate in a large-scale project, the Art Series, and to create two limited edition bottles, currently distributed all over the world.
The Belgian actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, the American rapper and producer Rick Ross, but also the legendary bassist of the group Guns 'n Roses Duff McKagan, emblematic artists among others, exhibited a work by Grégoire Devin at home, while like other renowned collectors.
Grégoire Devin also devotes his time to several charitable projects such as, for example, the Iconic Haus in Paradise Valley, Arizona, a villa entirely decorated by interior designers and artists for the benefit of the Heart Center of the Children's Hospital of the city of Phoenix, the Phoenix Children's Hospital, or even this other project for the benefit of WWF on the initiative of the founder of EasyJet Sir Stelios Haji-loannou and the Prince of Monaco, Albert II.
Many other works by Grégoire Devin, including his last paintings which appear in the American series “The CHI", broadcast since 2020 on the Showtime channel and created by Lena Waithe, awarded by an Emmy Awards, can be seen on his site gregoiredevin. com.
