Biography
Born in 1975, Pinkhas defines himself as an heir to the Jewish School of Paris, with an expressionist and naive style.
His atypical career path combines a doctorate in medicine and training in dramatic art (Cours Florent, Academy Oscar Sisto). In parallel with his more academic figurative work, Pinkhas is developing a series of conceptual works with the recurring element of the gold ingot. Small "precision", the artist wishes to stage only real gold bars.
This work is done from two angles:
The Gold Up series, featuring ingots in safes, targets of a robbery and The Hidden Gold series having fun staging said ingots in more surprising situations. The most representative version is undoubtedly the collection entitled: “How much do you Pez? ”, Where The famous candy distributor delivers real ingots as a provocative praise to the unbridled consumer society.
