Manuel Pérez (Murcia, 1976) trained at the Murcia Art School, obtaining the title of Higher Technician in Arts Applied to Sculpture. At this center he received classes from the sculptor Dionisio Paje. Outside of him, he had the painter Manolo Belzunce as a teacher. Of both artists he is the outstanding disciple.
He had barely turned twenty when he began to stand out as one of the most promising artists of his generation. His important achievements in those years bear witness to this:
First Prize for Young Creation Painting (1994, 1995, 1996)
First Prize for Young Creation Sculpture (1995)
First Medal of Honor First 100 years of the Official Chamber of Commerce (2000)
First Prize University of Murcia (2000)
First Prize National Competition of Fuente Álamo (2000)
First Prize for Young Murcia Painting (2000)
Medal of Honor II National Painting Competition, University of Murcia (2001), among others.
He has always combined his undoubted talent with an enviable capacity for work, which has made it possible for him to hold more than thirty individual exhibitions to date. Among those made in galleries, the following stand out:
Art Nine (2001, 2004, 2006, 2008)
Chys (2010, 2014, 2016, 2018)
The Aurora (2011)
Babel (2013)
Neighborhood architecture (2020)
LaLuz (2023).
Outside Murcia:
Bambara (Cartagena; 2005, 2009)
SEN (Madrid; 2005, 2008)
Nolde (Madrid; 2007, 2010)
Manuel Ojeda (LasPalmas, 2012)
Nine (Valencia, 2012)
Tordinelli (Rome, 2012)
Pantocrator Gallery (Shanghai, 2015), among others.
However, his major exhibitions have taken place in public halls: Muralla Bizantina (Cartagena, 2005), San Esteban (Murcia, 2008), Puertas de Castilla (Murcia, 2010), Fundación Pedro Cano (Blanca, 2013), Centro Cultural La Asunción (Albacete, 2014), Palacio Consistorial (Cartagena, 2015) and Palacio Almudí Art Center (Murcia, 2015) stand out among them.
He currently continues to develop his successful professional career with new and ambitious projects. All this thanks to being in a constant creative search and to the discipline and tenacity with which he approaches his work every day.
