Léo Caillard was born in 1985 and lives and works in Paris.
He works on images meticulously, like a mathematician solving an equation. When he dresses up the statues of the Louvre or when he places military vehicles in unconventional settings, Léo Caillard is searching for the same effect: that of surprise.
He searches to attract the gaze of the viewer, to stimulate it with unusual associations. He is supported by a team who produces 3D images and works in post production, and his photographic tricks create a lot of meaning.
The artist is not only searching for the effect for the sake of the trick, but he is always reflecting upon the role of the image and the representation of the world that it unveils.
