Artwork location: France

There was a time when there was somewhere to escape, when solitary spaces were accessible and welcoming. Assailed by black dogs, condemned to survival, I lived a strange dance where noise kept the rhythm.

I then remembered the dream I used to have as a child, at the boundary between the tangible and the intangible. A castle in the sky, where I wondered how long an eternity lasts—sometimes just a second. And so, faithful to my childhood dreams, I returned there to take refuge outside of myself, allowing silence to finally resonate within the darkest mirages of my mind. When I was small, the eternal silence of these spaces frightened me, but now, content within my dreams, sitting at the castle gate, I learned to love it.

It was then that I knew silence is less indecent than words.

Presentation

Steps :

To talk about my work, you have to go back to the origins.

The 70s, with the beginning of fine photographic art, the meeting with photographers Ralph Gibson and Duane Michals both on the line of demarcation, where reality becomes abstract.

It was therefore towards a creation diametrically opposed to that of conceptual photography that I was moving towards, a creation where there is no difference between the imaginary and reality. I decided then that my photos will not show, will not explain, will not question. They will open the doors to emotions.

I like to quote Gerhard Richter: "I obey no intention, no system, no tendency.. I like uncertainty, infinity and permanent insecurity". Bio:

Even though I became interested in music at a very young age through the piano, I always felt like a photographer. Always a matter of perspective. First more on the side of black and white than color.

The meeting with Helmut Newton, whose assistant I was, opened the doors to the world of fashion where I made a career working for the main French and Italian fashion magazines.

Today visual artist photography has replaced fashion and it is no longer in magazines but in French and foreign galleries that my work is exhibited.
