Passionate about drawing and painting from a young age, Joëlle Darmon devoted herself to this art as a teenager. Creative, her pleasure of painting, of drawing never leaves her.
Self-taught artist, she then refines her techniques with plastic art teachers and painters from the Toulouse region in which she lives.
At her beginnings, in 1980, she discovered and experimented with various techniques and styles by painting many subjects inspired in particular by nature.
She studied oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, pastel, worked on different media and then exhibited in the Haute-Garonne department and in Provence.
After university studies in languages and tourism, she worked in the field of communication. Her tastes were refined in the 90s and more particularly in 1992, after the birth of her daughter who was for her a great source of inspiration and motivation. The artist then decides to favor the acrylic technique. She produces many paintings on the themes of the sea, flora, childhood, Provence, Africa.
Always in search of emotions through the colors that burst on her canvas, she mixes them with the material (sand, quartz, mediums, gels ...) in order to give them more vibrations and relief.
Impregnated with the works of great masters such as Cézanne, Matisse, Chagall, and inspired by his travels in Provence, and in the Mediterranean basin, spring from his paintings: color, light, warmth and serenity!
Today, on the strength of this experience acquired over the past few years, Joëlle Darmon leaves her profession in the field of early childhood to devote herself entirely to painting. Having become a professional visual artist-painter, she lets her imagination speak by turning to the composition of half-abstract, half-figurative paintings.
Nature remains his main source of inspiration and begins his new artistic life by honoring the color blue through the depths of seas and oceans. She always uses the universe of mixed media and adds to acrylic textures such as mortars, reactive paints, collages, inks, resin, clay, gold leaf.
The latter return from the work that touch of light and emotions which invites to travel and which makes it its signature.
