Biography
After brief drawing studies at Maître Corlin's workshop in Paris, I directed my career towards another artistic profession which was the creation of Haute Couture jewelry signed under the name: "Jenny d'Ormond".
I was recognized in many countries as one of the first fashionable designers in the years 85 to 96.
In recent years, I have resumed my passion for painting, which I sign with my artist name “Jenny d’Ormond”.
It’s a painting of my moods. It allows me to convey an emotional reaction to the spectators.
My representations can be based on visions or dreams: distressing or serene; the goal in stylizing reality is to achieve the greatest expressive intensity, to depict symbols through color.
Extremely sensitive and very spiritually influenced by my 9 years of life in Asia, my first spiritual paintings wanted to express the “soul” with all its mystery; then the current violence awakened the pain buried in me, from the war that I expressed through its bright, even violent colors.
I adopted an original technique for acrylic: I work with my fingers; I sort of sculpt the painting before placing it on the canvas. I have kept more traditional techniques for oil painting in the spirit of more conventional subjects: landscapes or portraits.
