Artwork location: United Kingdom
A black and white photograph of a man lost in the rhythm of his base on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee.
Beale Street is a mecca for lovers of the blues and a must see location on the musical trails of the Deep South of the US.
James Sparshatt's black and white photographs of music and dance capture the emotion and intensity of people lost in the rhythm of the moment.
The work is available both as a baryta silver gelatin print, a delicious palladium platinum print by 31 Studio – The Platinum Print Room – recognised masters of this printing art form, and as larger archival prints.

James has had solo exhibitions in New York, San Antonio, London, Cordoba, Havana and across the UK. His work has been sold at Art Hamptons, Art Chicago, Pulse Miami, Slick Paris, and Affordable Art Fairs in Brussels, Amsterdam, New York, Singapore, Los Angeles, London, Stockholm, Hamburg and Milan. His exhibition Land of Spirit at the Royal National Theatre in London was described in the Sunday Telegraph as “a dazzling collection of black and white images...”.
His palladium platinum prints are produced in collaboration with specialist platinum printer Max Caffell of 31 Studio. 31 Studio are recognised as masters of this sought after printing technique. They are also the printers of choice of Sebastiao Salgado, the estate of Henri Lartigue, and many other photographic luminaries.
